Hi everyone,
While I’m getting warmed up with the blog, I wanted to post my three favorite children’s books publishers in Spanish. Where I live they’re relatively easy to obtain but they’re not everywhere, so I look for these whenever I can.
Ediciones Ekaré is an absolutely lovely publishing house from Venezuela. Their books bring a lot of memories and I love that they have many traditional stories from native tribes along with new writers and translations in other languages. Things have been unstable there for a long time so it’s very important that they keep up their work. By the way, this is The Mocked Possum.
Amanuta is a Chilean publisher, and they have a ton of folk stories, along with books on science and non-fiction for all ages. This image is from a board book called Una Papa en Bicicleta (A Potato on a Bicycle):
Combel is a publisher based in Spain with a branch in Mexico, likely to cover the Latin America and the United States markets. They have some really clever board books, two of my favorites are Buenos Dias and Buenas Noches, take a look:
I love me some good kids’ books!
Que lindo ese libro que mueve los ojos!
